THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF ADAPTED PHYSICAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE KICKS OFF ON WEDNESDAY
The activities of the International Scientific Conference “Theory and Practice in Adapted Physical Education” will begin this Wednesday morning at the Sharjah Education Academy, which is organized by the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Federation and Ruler of Sharjah. It will witness broad participation by more than 30 speakers, specialists, and researchers. They will present their theses on topics that focus on raising awareness about the latest developments and modern practices in the field of APE for people with disabilities (intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, severe and multiple disabilities).
The agenda of the conference, which will be held over two days in scientific partnership with California State University - Chico and the Sharjah Education Academy, will cover, in five main sessions, eighteen working papers from 26 researchers, including joint working papers on technology, health and safety, inclusive education, and rehabilitation. It will also look at ways to develop services and programs for people with disabilities by showcasing them, offering fresh insights, and sharing unique experiences related to APE.
The conference showcases cutting-edge research, experiences, and practices from both domestic and international sources in the areas of physical education and people with disabilities. The conference participants come from nine different countries: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, the United States of America, South Korea, France, and Australia. It also keeps up with the latest advancements in the field of movement sciences and works to change the way society views people with disabilities. It also aims to achieve equality and justice by giving these individuals the resources they need to succeed in sports and physical activities.
