SHARJAH COOPERATIVE SOCIETY DONATES 360,000 AED TO SUPPORT SCHS ACTIVITIES

As part of the continuous cooperation between Sharjah Cooperative Society and Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), the society is going to make a 360,000 AED donation to support the programs and activities, which SCHS offers to its students with disabilities.  The society will divide the donation on three years’ throughout a group of vouchers. Each voucher equals 10,000 Dirhams of purchases from the society per-month.  

His Excellency Majid Al Junaid, the CEO of Sharjah Cooperative Society, directed his sincerest thanks to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, for their constant support to the society.

He also thanked Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, for her unlimited efforts, great care for disability issues, offering the best services to persons with disabilities, and advance their levels.

He said, “This cooperation comes based on the directives of the Sharjah Cooperative Board of Directors and their great interest in the principle of social responsibility and its implementation as well as educating the community about it.  It includes participating in Al Zakat Campaign, which SCHS organizes every year in the holy month of Ramadan.  In addition, Sharjah Cooperative Society offers training on a group of skills and jobs to persons with disabilities in order to develop their capabilities and experience so they can have an active role in their community”.

Al Junaid believes that all institutes have the obligation of supporting persons with disabilities, grant their right to independent living, integration into society, and offer them rehabilitation and training that correspond to their capabilities.  He has confirmed Sharjah Cooperative Society’s determination to continue supporting the activities of SCHS as a way of committing to the directives of the ruler of Sharjah.

For her part, Mrs. Mona Abdel Karim Al Yafi, Director of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, directed her sincerest thanks to the management of Sharjah Cooperative Society.  She asked individuals and institutes, each according to their position and capabilities, to support the programs and services that SCHS provides to its students.  This would consolidate the principle of social responsibility and assist SCHS to advance its services as a leading organization in Advocacy, Inclusion, and Empowerment of people with disabilities.
