SCHS launches "Al-Manal Reporters Network"
Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), issued Administrative Decision No. (63) of 2026 regarding the formation of the "Al Manal Magazine Correspondents Network" in a qualitative step that reflects SCHS's orientation towards developing institutional media work and enhancing specialized knowledge and humanitarian content, in line with the status of Al Manal magazine at the local, Arab, and international levels. This is in an attempt to achieve sustainability, increase participation, and develop institutional work.
The decision is a result of SCHS's desire to maintain the magazine's media and knowledge message, to strengthen the institutional involvement culture, and to record exceptional experiences and practices across departments, branches, and centers.
The decision establishes an internal network known as the "Al-Manal Magazine Correspondents Network." In addition to guaranteeing the continuous flow of journalistic materials, reports, and human interest stories from various SCHS departments and branches as well as pertinent outside organizations, it seeks to strengthen the magazine's media and knowledge content.
The decision confirmed that the network will operate under the supervision of both Ms. Sarah Adly Abdel Malik from the Sharjah Autism Center and Mrs. Amna Ibrahim Al Zaabi from the Kallba branch, who will be responsible for monitoring the network’s work, providing support and guidance to its members, and coordinating directly with the magazine’s editorial board.
A small number of specialized staff members from different departments and centers are also part of the network, which reflects the new media project's integrated vision and validates SCHS's approach to incorporating institutional competencies in content creation and recording human, educational, and rehabilitation accomplishments.
The network’s functions included a number of qualitative tasks, most notably enhancing communication with relevant local, Arab and international bodies, proposing development initiatives, promoting the magazine and its digital platforms, in addition to collecting human stories and success experiences, and documenting working papers, scientific studies, conferences and training programs in accordance with approved professional frameworks.
The decision also stipulated that participation in the network should be voluntary and outside of official working hours, without affecting the basic job duties, with the adoption of flexible work mechanisms that include creating an official communication group via the "WhatsApp" application, and holding in-person and virtual meetings as needed, in addition to working in the future to attract new correspondents within an approved development plan.
An Important Strategic Step
On this occasion, Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi affirmed that the decision is a significant strategic step in Al Manal magazine's journey and reflects SCHS's belief in the value of humanistic media and specialized knowledge as a vital partner in raising awareness, recording inspiring experiences, and fostering the exchange of expertise.
She said, “The formation of Al Manal Magazine's network of correspondents stems from our vision to develop institutional media content and enhance the magazine's presence as a specialized knowledge and humanitarian platform that reflects SCHS's mission and values. We believe that collaborative media work based on documenting human experiences contributes to building sustainable knowledge and strengthens the impact of our message locally, regionally, and internationally.”
She emphasized that investing in human and knowledge-based competencies is one of the most crucial pillars of sustainable development, adding that this network will enable SCHS staff to actively contribute to content creation and to transfer successful initiatives and experiences, thereby consolidating a culture of institutional creativity and teamwork.
Her Excellency noted that Mr. Hisham Katami, the editor of Al-Manal, had previously suggested the concept of starting the Al-Manal magazine correspondents network in an effort to establish a more expanded and engaged media system both inside and outside of SCHS. He emphasized that the concept was endorsed and supported due to its significant professional and developmental aspects. Her Excellency stated that she is confident that the network would be a successful move that helps to increase Al-Manal magazine's visibility, broaden its sphere of impact, and spread its message of knowledge and humanitarianism.
