AL KHALIDIYA DISTRICT COUNCIL DONATES 30.000 AED TO SUPPORT SCHS SERVICES

On Monday morning, November 4, 2019, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) received delegates from Al Khalidiya District Council as part of its restless efforts to consolidate the relationships of cooperation with local, regional, and international bodies and organizations with the aim of constantly advancing the services offered to persons with disabilities according to the best international practices. His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairperson of Al Khalidiya District Council chaired the delegation.

As a contribution to students with disabilities education and the programs offered to them by SCHS as a leading institute, Al Marri donated 30,000 Dirhams to SCHS.  He has confirmed that the cooperation between both sides benefits persons with disabilities and the entire community.

Al-Marri explained that the Khalidiya District Council will provide (horses) once a week for SCHS physical and occupational therapists to train persons with severe and multiple disabilities during the evening.  In addition, the council is ready to cooperate with SCHS in all possible areas.

The Chairperson of Al Khalidiya District Council said, “The services, which SCHS offers to its students with disabilities are as good as the services offered in the most advanced countries around the world.  I was very happy and proud to enter classrooms and join students their lessons”.  He praised the methods, which SCHS uses to educate persons with disabilities on the hands of the best specialists.

Furthermore, he praised SCHS hard work to empower, advocate, and include persons with disabilities as well as raising people’s awareness as a preparation for their full integration into society.

For her part, Mrs. Mona Abdel Karim appreciated Al Khalidiya District Council generous donation and its constant care to practice social responsibility and support the services, which SCHS offers to persons with disabilities.  She confirmed that SCHS works hard to consolidate the relationships of cooperation with local, regional, and international bodies and organizations.

She said, “Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services has a great care to plant the values of volunteerism, initiation, and social innovation in the minds of youngsters and members of society.  It also works to raise people’s awareness of persons with disabilities rights in every area of life”.

In conclusion, Mrs. Mona has pointed out that raising awareness of each disability and the needs associated with it contributes to integrating persons with disabilities into society. She called on members of society, each according to their position and ability to practice social responsibility and contribute to a better reality and future for persons with disabilities.
